One of the best things that we did on our visit to Bend, OR this year was dog sledding. Mt. Bachelor happens to be home to Rachael Scdoris, the first legally blind person to complete the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race across the U.S. state of Alaska. Her family now operates a dog sled tour company on Mount Bachelor. This was the highlight of our trip.
As the dogs wait to be selected for the ride, they are anxious and loud, begging to be chosen. Then once the sled takes off with the passengers, they are silent until they see another sled being set-up for a ride. These dogs obviously love what they do. It was a great experience that I recommend any potential visitors look into as well. For more information:
