Curated Travel Inspiration and Musings

I came across this video recently on Facebook.  I am a fan of Fleurty Girl, which is a fun T-shirt vendor in New Orleans, and they shared this video from on the Saint Charles Street Car.  Sure the video is a little cheesy, but this totally captures this special New Orleans experience, which provides more than transportation but also an enjoyable tour for only $1.25.  On the weekends it can be busy and, during the Summer, it can be hot- but this is a must-do in my book.  Get out of the French Quarter and really explore the city.

During our May trip, there was construction of the rails but there were buses filling the gaps.  This is not nearly as enjoyable, but I am sure that the street cars will be back up and running for the full length soon.  Despite the service interruption, the street car and bus combination is still great for exploring and much more affordable than taxis.  I suggest that you get to the Garden District and have a drink at the Columns Hotel too!
