Entouriste is one of my favorite travel blogs to follow. I would describe it as crowd-sourced travel photography where photographers are invited to submit photo guides to their favorite cities. As they are usually locals, I have found their picks to be pretty spot on – not to mention the photos are usually professional and beautiful too.
They recently did a photo guide for Austin and while I did not agree with all the choices, the majority are a good fit to my selections as well.
In particular, Elizabeth Street Cafe, 24 Diner and Lady Bird Lake are all very solid suggestions and images that represent Austin to me. And while I am not a huge fan of the recently developed Second Street District, no visit to Austin is complete without a stroll through SoCo or the South Congress area.
I think it is unfortunate that the East Side dining/drinks and the new hot spot Rainey Street are neglected, as well as BBQ and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. You can read some of my East Side suggestions in this article and more about Rainey Street here, but be sure to check out these images and add some of these to your planned stops too.
