Grand Canyon - South Kaibab Trail Sunset Hike

Hi, my name is Derek and I’ll be your guide for an unforgettable sunset hike along the South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon. As a seasoned hiker and Grand Canyon enthusiast, I’ll guide you through one of the most breathtaking trails, where you’ll experience stunning views and a serene atmosphere. What We’ll Do:

We’ll start by meeting at the Grand Canyon Visitor’s Center, where I’ll introduce myself and give a brief overview of the hike. Then, we’ll travel by shuttle to the South Kaibab trailhead and descend the trail to Ooh Aah Point – a perfect spot for incredible panoramic views and photos. At Ooh Aah Point, we’ll set up to watch the sun set over the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon, providing you with unforgettable views and photo opportunities. After sunset, we’ll hike back up the trail under the twilight sky, using headlamps for safety. I’ll share interesting facts and stories about the Grand Canyon along the way.

• Duration: 4-5 hours (including sunset viewing and return hike)
• Difficulty Level: Moderate – the hike involves descending and ascending a steep trail, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
• Meeting Point: Grand Canyon Visitor’s Center at the South Rim
• What to Bring: Sturdy hiking shoes, a jacket or layers (temperatures can drop quickly), water, snacks, a camera, and a headlamp or flashlight.
• Weather Conditions: The hike will proceed unless there are severe weather conditions. Please check the forecast and dress accordingly.
